Quick Video Showing how Boeing airplanes are put together in Everett WA

January 23, 2010 at 7:04 pm | Posted in 787 Background | 3 Comments

This video is not a 787 (unfortunately Boeing is not releasing internal videos of the 787 yet). This video shows the Boeing 777 being assembled in the same factory as the 787.  In all, 4 airplane models  (767, 747, 777, and 787) are assembled within a single factory in Everett WA. The building in Everett WA is the largest in the WORLD by volume. I have heard it could fit Disneyland and all its parking lots under the roof! Let me just say, it takes me 30 minutes to walk from my car to my desk in the morning (and I usually get a parking spot close to the factory!)

  1. Truly Fascinating! Very cool!

  2. Wow, 4 posts already! You are really regular with the blogging!

I am really looking forward to the 787. Heard the entertainment and communication systems are going to be great. Quite sad that my frequent flier airline, Emirates, hasn’t ordered one though.

    • Hopefully Emirates catches on and starts ordering a few. They are a very large customer of 777’s. I have actually had the opportunity to sit in a few customer meetings with Emirates as well and have found that they are very fair in their dealings with Boeing.
